Wazo was born to help fund
and support a non-profit called
Nexus Technology.
After the tragedies of September 11,
fundraising became difficult for all non-profits, especially little-known
start-ups like Nexus. On that fateful day, Nexus had been in existence only
14 months.
Shortly after September 11,
however, an opportunity to build a
mission-critical application for a national literacy organization presented itself to Nexus' founders. Wazo, LLC was
formally organized in December 2002 to take advantage
of this opportunity.
Wazo now invests a portion of its resources to
support Nexus and, primarily through that relationship, has assisted many other community organizations.
